a big one.

again...sorry for the lack of updates. but i am now back for a update!!! woot woot!...

So I have made it to my fourth month here in Korea. I can't believe it...thats almost six months...wow. time flies when you are having a blast... The days at school have been slowing down...i guess because i am finally settled down. I am loving everything about school still...I am very happy about it!

About a month ago, our school had a sports day just for teachers... This was kind of a drag because it was on a Saturday and was about a 2 hour drive from where our school was. All the teachers had to meet at school for 6:30am and play a bunch of sports with different teachers from all the different branches. Our school founders and owners are named CheongShim. They own 2 branches of Hope School, one in Paju and the other in Buechon. Anyways, we went to the junior high school that they have built in the mountains... it was beautiful...absolutely amazing. I was only able to get two pictures...

thats only one part of the school...where the main events were taking place. But the place was beautiful...Need less to say...my school is RICH. we are owned by RICH people...very religious rich people. My coworkers and I found ourselves in a little prayer session...it was pretty scary. Anyways, all of us were crabby and pissed off that we had to be there on a Saturday...our day off...our weekend...and on top of that it was UNPAID. When I signed my contract I was told that there were events that we would have to attend which were not paid for... ANYWAYS, we went through the whole day whining but participating in soccer baseball (or kickball as the call it in the states...i fought with some coworkers about this..haha), dodge ball (which boys weren't allowed to throw the ball..they were just targets..hahaha), soccer, tug of war, a cheer off, as well as many different relay race type games. At the end of the day we were all tired, pissed, annoyed, and many of us were burnt... we all just wanted to go home...we were counting down the minutes... but then it was announced that the CheongShim was going to donate 5 billion won to all the participants that day...divide that by about 700 people...we all got basically 400 BONES per person! woot woot! it ended up being a pretty great day... and I was 400, 000 won richer.

The World Cup started last weekend...and I have definitely jumped onto that bandwagon. Not that I really watch the games...Its more like going out for drinks and spending time with friends. Last weekend was a little crazy, I was so tried...both Friday and Saturday nights I got home at 6 in the morning... The bars here just don't close which makes it really hard to keep track of time. When you walk out of the bar with your friends and realize that its bright outside...I just want to cry. Its just so sad... Nevertheless, its always a good time hanging with friends and being part of the the festiveness. I haven't gotten much pictures of all the craziness...but I will. Its great people have so much pride here...I need to get myself a shirt and some devil horns..haha

So after a really long night, I spent Sunday afternoon walking around my little town. I had some alone time...had a coffee, read a book, and took some pictures of my towns so-called 'downtown'. I need to get some better ones, but these will do for now... Everyone! This is my town, GYOHA. <3

This is kind of like the main entrance of the downtown... Our downtown is basically like 5 buildings in one area. This picture was taken from the main bus stop of our little town. This is where we usually meet when a bunch of us are about to go out. The pink sign on the right is Baskin Robins, then theres a porridge restaurant, and my bank! On the left theres a Dunkin' Dounuts, and a PJ store.

This is the main intersection of Gyoha. All those little house looking buildings across the street are little restaurants and some apartments.

I have to start taking more pictures... My parents definitely took so many when they came to visit me at the end of May. I will have get some from them. I just have a bad habit of relying on others take the pictures when I'm on vacation...I know its not vacation...but i just suck at taking pictures...haha.

I have more to blog about...but not tonight...I hope this is good enough for now. I promise that I will be doing more frequent updates...and taking more pictures!!!

So... I leave you with one more video of my little man...

kekeke...he makes me so happy. Lately, hes been able to speak to me in English...very simple broken sentences... but hes trying and I love him... hahaha.

MISS YOU ALL.
